WCT Manitoba re-launched their chapter with Breaking the Barriers: Women Empowering Women at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights on October 26th, 2018.

The event featured an incredible line up of speakers, each bringing a unique experience and expertise to the conversation of gender parity.

WCT's mission across Canada is to close the gender gap in communications, media, information and technology. Through a coast to coast network of professional men and women, WCT hosts professional development and advocacy events like this to illuminate the need for gender parity and the strategies and tactices which have been proven to work.

This event featured from Robin Hildebrand, a member of the WCT National Board of Directors, as well as Vice President, Human Resources & Regulatory Affairs at Golden West Broadcasting Ltd.

Lynda Leonard from WCT shares the latest in diversity research, including the Blueprint for Women's Leadership and Up The Numbers 2018.

The discussion then featured two panels moderated Cheryl McKenzie from APTN.

Panel 1: Lisa Meeches (Entrepreneur / Producer) and David Baker (Think Shift)

Panel 2: Beverlie Stuart (MITT) and Kathy Knight (ICTAM)

Joanne Stanley, Executive Director of WCT closed the event with remarks from WCT.
