WEBINAR: Health Information and Its Impacts: A discussion with Canada’s health information professionals

Health information is the presentation of health data that provides an accurate and holistic health story for every Canadian, and health information professionals help ensure that data is of the highest quality. Their work impacts the care that Canadians receive and informs policy and funding decisions across the country. Join us for a panel discussion about the relevance of health information and the critical role that health information professionals play in health care systems in Canada.

Panelists:

Monique Rasmussen is the regional director of coding and informatics services for Health Information Management (HIM) in Lower Mainland, British Columbia. With more than two decades of HIM experience in Ontario and BC, Monique provides leadership and strategic direction for medical coding and abstracting services, data quality, and clinical documentation improvement initiatives.

Patricia Visosky is the coordinator of the health information management program at Douglas College and former faculty of the bachelor program in HIM at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. She has a keen interest in health informatics and recently completed doctoral studies in health research with a focus on health informatics curriculum.

Jennifer Bennett is the manager of performance analytics at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she has spent the past eight years in various roles. She previously worked with the Saskatoon Health Region. Jen has her Executive Masters of Business Administration from the Sobey School of Business, bachelor of science from St. Francis Xavier University, and health information management diploma from NSCC.
