WCT’s 30th Anniversary Annual Leadership Excellence Awards Recognize Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Champions in Canada's Communications and Technology Industries
OTTAWA, May 3, 2021 - Women in Communications and Technology announced today the successful applicants for the 2021 Dr. Roberta Bondar STEM Career Development Program. In collaboration with the Government of Canada and Microsoft Canada, the program benefits women, nonbinary people, and gender diverse people working in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) in the early years of their career or returning from a recent period of absence.
Employers seeking to build competitive and high performing organizations are turning to diversity and inclusive to give them a competitive edge.
WCT’s Gender Parity Scorecard (GPS) is a free interactive online program that allows employers to assess how their current practices for diversity and inclusion compare with those of leading companies in the labour market. The program offers tutorials on best practices and helps employers chart a new course to improve their progress in creating more welcoming and equitable workplaces.
Women working in communications and technology will have more opportunities to find a mentor, or become a mentor themselves, in 2021 thanks to a collaboration between the Discovery Foundation and Women in Communications and Technology’s BC Chapter (WCTBC).
WCTBC has once again been selected as a 2021 Discovery Foundation Technology Education Program (TEP) agent to deliver its Speed Mentoring Program.

WCT is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA). Through this collaboration, WCT and CHIMA bring together thousands of technology members across Canada to build a professional network for women in information management to succeed in their careers.
CHIMA is the national professional association for the health information industry in Canada, representing over 5,000 health information members from coast to coast to coast.
